Stephen King has to be one of the most respected and popular writers of his generation. But while his books enjoy widespread acclaim by critics and the readers, the same couldn’t be said for his cooking works.

King recently went on Twitter to share a recipe for salmon dinner that includes cooking salmon in the microwave. However, not all social media users ended up being impressed. On the contrary.

King’s Salmon Recipe

According to King’s recipe, the first thing you should do is grab a nice salmon filet (not too big) from the supermarket. Next, brush some olive oil and lemon juice on it and wrap it up in a damp paper towel. The last step is to “nuke” it in the microwave for “3 minutes or so” before digging in. Salad is optional.

Internet’s Reaction

After learning about the King’s preferred way of cooking salmon, many users were shocked. One user called it “an excellent horror story,” while another branded the recipe as the writer’s “scariest work yet.” Some even offered alternative recipes.

It is worth mentioning that you can actually cook salmon in the microwave, even if it sounds outrageous. The fish can cook evenly and the damp paper towels King mentions help create steam for an even better effect. But you will have to be prepared to deal with the smell.
