Set Aside Your Pride—Take Your Food to Go

We all know that feeling. You’re out eating at a fancy restaurant, but for whatever reason you’re not that hungry. Maybe you ate a lot that day, and forgot about your late night plans to eat out. In any case, now you’re at the restaurant and decided to order something that was way bigger than anything you felt like eating. So what should you do in this situation? If you ask us, we say swallow your pride and take a good chunk of it to go.

Don’t Overeat

The problem with not taking it to go is that when you’re in this situation, you always end up overeating. You figure that because you’re going to be paying for it (and often it’s a pretty penny), you might as well stuff your face in the moment. We get that, but is it really necessary? If it’s no big deal, then go ahead. But definitely don’t force yourself to eat something when you’re full and you would appreciate it that much more for lunch tomorrow.

Getting Ahead Of Yourself

Here’s the thing. How often do you eat about 80 percent of your meal, only to decide that the rest is not enough to take home with you? Ultimately, you end up just leaving the rest at the restaurant. So if you’re feeling full, stop eating your meal at 50 or 60 percent—and then you’ll have a solid meal to take home with you!
