Spring is that time of year when most people like to clean, reorganize, and declutter their homes. Here are a few things you can definitely throw away this season if you want to declutter your kitchen.

Old Wooden Spoons

Wooden spoons are definitely better than plastic ones, but they’re still not safe for use if they have any visible cracks or spots. This is a sure sign it’s time to replace your wooden spoons.

Cracked Dishes

Cracked mugs and other dishes can be very dangerous for a number of reasons, but mostly because these cracks can hold bacteria. That’s why it’s best to get rid of all cracked dishes, or if you really love those cracked mugs you can repurpose them as holders.

Old Cutting Boards

Much like wooden spoons, if your wooden cutting board has any cracks or deep scratch marks it’s probably time to replace it with a new one.

Old Spices

Spices and herbs don’t really expire if they are stored correctly, but they can lose flavor after a few years. So if you have any spices that have been sitting around for too long, it’s best to throw them away.
