Never in our wildest dreams did we think that we could take a bite out of Taylor Swift. But that day has arrived, friends!
The “Anti-Hero” singer is currently on her world tour and that has included a stop in New Jersey where she performed at MetLife Stadium. Before the concert, the governor of the state revealed just how much of a Swiftie he is by bestowing a huge honor on the star.
“In New Jersey, we have a reputation for a great war between Taylor ham and pork roll,” said Governor Phil Murphy. “Usually, we let you call it what you want, but since we have a superstar coming to town, we know ‘all too well’ that we should commemorate the occasion.”
What can be more prestigious than having a sandwich named after you?
“Today we are declaring the official state sandwich of New Jersey a Taylor Swift ham, egg, and cheese,” Murphy said. “Welcome to New Jersey, Taylor. We’ve been waiting for you, and it would’ve been a cruel summer without you.”
The multiple Grammy Award winner has not commented on her recognition, but we hope there was one waiting for her backstage after the show.
