Food editor at Food&Wine Kelsey Youngman had a few tips to share recently about how to make the best scrambled eggs. Yes, even a simple dish requires some knowledge and tips, at least if you want to get it perfect every single time. Here’s how to do it.
- Crack the eggs on the flat surface instead of on the edge of the bowl or pan. This will prevent tiny eggshell bits to get into your eggs.
- Whisk the eggs with the fork using firm ellipse motions until the whites and the yolks are perfectly blended. It won’t take you too long.
- Add salt before you fry the eggs so they will stay fluffy and moist. Don’t add too much, just a pinch.
- You can also add a bit of milk or cream if that’s something you like. Consider that you will already have butter in your eggs so it may be too much dairy.
- Add some butter to a cold pan and add the eggs immediately. Let everything heat up evenly and cook on medium temperature until done.
