In this day and age, coffee has become one of the most popular drinks in the world. It’s not just about its heavenly taste, it’s about its ability to wake us up in the morning when we need it most. From fancy cafes to Starbucks on-the-go, it’s common for people to drink multiple cups of coffee per day. But how many cups of coffee is too much?

Finding the Balance

It’s a well-known fact that coffee dehydrates us. Thus, as long as we’ve got a cup of water to accompany our coffee, the overall effects of the coffee won’t be as severe. On the flip side, if you’re not drinking any water throughout the day and you’re drinking up to three or four cups of coffee, you should probably lower your intake.

The Jitters

It’s easy to jump for the coffee when we’re bored at work and feel like we need a “boost”. But this can lead you down a path where you can easily go through five or six cups of coffee per day, and this isn’t ideal. This kind of coffee-drinking can make us tense, jittery, and often on-edge.

Different for Everyone

Then again, everyone’s different. For some people, three cups of coffee is too much, while three cups to someone else isn’t really so intense. The most important thing is to know yourself, and to know when the coffee is taking over your body in a negative way. So do your best to have self-awareness about how you’re feeling when you drink coffee!
