On weeknights, we don’t all have time to spend hours in our kitchen and when it comes to cooking, we’re all about meals that can be prepared in 30 minutes or less. While pasta can be made quickly, contrary to popular belief, we can’t live off of pasta. But with these tips, you can get dinner to the table quicker.

Wear an Apron

Don’t spend time worrying about messing up your clothes. Instead of preparing food cautiously, put all of your power into mixing and seasoning foods. It’s okay to make a mess in the kitchen.

Use a Trash Bowl

Instead of going from one side of your kitchen to the other every time you have trash, set up a bowl for trash to clear your workspace.

Sharpen Your Knives

Chopping is one of the most time-intensive tasks when cooking and sharp knives can speed up the process. While we’re on the topic of knives, hone in on your knife skills by learning how chefs chop ingredients.

Use High Heats

Crank the heat up to get things cooking and then turn it down as needed. Foods like steaks can be cooked on a high heat.

Read the Recipe Twice

When you’re using a new recipe, read the recipe twice to avoid making mistakes which will slow down the process.
