If Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, then cold and flu season might well be the worst. It just so happens that these two periods tend to coincide in the northern hemisphere. If you don’t want to miss out on any holiday parties, you’d best stock up on some vitamin C. Here’s how.

Strawberries

Not only are strawberries sweet and delightful, but they’re also brimming with vitamin C. Each cupful contains 85 milligrams of vitamin C, as well as a bunch of manganese which is good for your blood sugar. All the more reason to make them the star of dessert.

Brussels Sprouts

Brussels sprouts are a classic holiday food and now we know why—these little guys contain 75 milligrams of vitamin C per cup! Roast them with some bacon, or steam them for a salad.

Tomato Juice

Is it a fruit? Is it a vegetable? It doesn’t matter, because a cup of tomato juice has 170 milligrams of vitamin C. The drink also possesses vitamin A and potassium, which sounds like a good excuse to order a Bloody Mary!
