Chips are one of the most popular snacks on the market, but it’s no secret that they’re not that healthy. Luckily, there are countless alternatives on the market—and you can make some of them in the comfort of your home. Carrot chips are a case in point and they taste just as delicious as the real thing.

If carrots happen to be one of your favorite veggies, it’s time to bake a delicious snack that will satisfy your cravings for chips. Carrot chips are a crispy delight that you can make with just five basic ingredients and we’re here to show you how.

Ingredients (4 servings):

  • 1 pound of carrots (thinly sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt and pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions:

  1. While preheating the oven to 450 degrees F, line a baking sheet with parchment pepper. You might need several baking sheets for a larger number of carrots.
  2. Thinly slice the carrots using a chef’s knife, vegetable peeler, or mandolin slicer. Keep the slices at around ¼-inch thick for extra crispiness.
  3. Put sliced carrots in a large bowl, add the oil, spices, salt, and pepper inside and toss them all together to thoroughly coat your carrots.
  4. Line the carrot slices in one layer on the baking sheet and bake for around 15-20 minutes, until your chips are brown and crispy. Flip the carrots and bake them for another 5 minutes on the other side.
  5. Serve carrot chips with a dip of your choice, such as hummus, ranch, or sour cream dip.
