We don’t know about you, but we love baking our own cupcakes. We don’t know if it’s the sense of accomplishment or a hint of “love,” but homemade cupcakes are always a bit tastier than the store-bought version. That is, of course, when we get them right.

In the past, we had a few recurring mishaps while making cupcakes. Sometimes they would bake too fast and we would get a great outside but mushy inside. Also, there were times when the top would turn out great, but the bottom would turn out soggy. But thanks to cake artist klynnskakes, that isn’t an issue anymore.

The Trick for Preventing Cupcakes From Baking Too Fast

In a recent video published on her Instagram, klynnskakes demonstrated a really simple but efficient hack that will help you get a perfect cupcake every time. All you need is common rice from your pantry.

According to the clip, the trick is to line the cupcake pan with rice. Then, you place the liner on top, get the cupcake batter in and continue baking as usual.

@klynnskakes explains that rice helps absorb moisture and oil, which prevents sogginess. Also, lifting the cupcakes from the bottom of the pan contributes to even baking. Check out her video below for more details.
