Kale—you either love it or hate it. And those who love it really can’t seem to get enough of it. If you’re not a fan, maybe you haven’t been eating kale right. While it’s most common in salads, there are many other ways to incorporate it into your diet. It’s loaded with vitamins and antioxidants, so it deserves to be on your plate. Here are five ways to eat kale beyond a salad.

Add it to Homemade Hummus

Make your own hummus and sneak some chopped kale into the recipe. You won’t even be able to taste it and you’ll be packing your hummus with nutrients.

Throw It in Soups

When you add kale to soups, it cooks down once it’s in the broth and you won’t taste it. Whether you’re having chicken noodle soup or minestrone, add a few cups of kale to the soup towards the end of cooking.

Make a Kale Pesto

Add kale to your basil, garlic, pine nut pesto or make a kale pesto with kale and walnuts.

Blend a Kale Smoothie

Blend a kale apple smoothie for something tangy and sweet or for a tropical twist, make a kale, pineapple, banana smoothie.

Bake Kale Chips

Make some kale chips and take them up a notch with light soy sauce or tamari.
