TikTok is a current cultural phenomenon that has become quite hard to avoid. One common type of video seen is people trying out trending food hacks and recipes, some of which work better than others. You’ll even probably see your favorite food bloggers making iterations of these trendy foods, even the ones that seem a little silly. Here are three TikTok trends that are, in fact, worth your time.

Feta Pasta

One of the most popular and most original trends, the famed “feta pasta” requires nothing more than a block of feta cheese, cherry tomatoes, basil, olive oil, and pasta. You simply put the block of feta whole in the oven in a dish with a package’s-worth of cherry tomatoes until it all cooks down, then mix it up with the pasta. It sounds a little too simple to really be good, but it is in fact absolutely delicious. A tip: use full-fat feta instead of a lighter version to make the sauce creamier and more uniform.

Carrot Bacon

Billed as a vegan alternative to bacon, this recipe uses liquid smoke and soy sauce to mimic the umami and smokiness of real meat but uses strips of carrot instead. It is delicious. But, it is not a nutritional alternative to bacon; that is, bacon has protein and this does not so keep in mind that it is not filling at all.

Dalgona Coffee

This trend of “whipped coffee” began back at the beginning of the pandemic and is quite good if a bit labor-intensive for what it is. It’s best to use an electric mixer because whipping your instant coffee, sugar, and water concoction takes a ton of effort by hand. Once it does start fluffing up, though, it is extremely satisfying to see and it tastes more or less like coffee candy.
