3 Things to Make With Pita Bread

Pita bread is more than just delicious. It’s also the most convenient way to carry your food around, short of maybe a burrito. There are lots of yummy ways to fill a pita including some you may not expect! Here are three ideas for things you can eat on the go by putting them in pita.

A Salad

Salads are a healthy lunch, whether they are lettuce-based or made with other chopped veggies and such. But you can’t eat them on the go…unless you put them in a pita! Spread some avocado or hummus, or even just some olive oil, on the inside of the pita and pop in your salad. 

Roasted Veggies

If you’re a vegan or vegetarian you probably already know that roasted veggies are a healthy and substantial substitute for meat or a fish patty. They go really well in a pita because they pair perfectly with the traditional toppings for Mediterranean dishes including tahini, hummus, and chopped salad.

Pulled Meat

The best thing about putting some pulled pork or pulled beef in a pita is that it helps avoid the mess that often comes with a more traditional sandwich. Convenient and delicious!
