The smell of grilling in the warm summer evening is often all we need to put a smile on our faces. If you’ve been sticking with traditional grilled foods until now, it’s time to try something new. Here are 3 unusual foods you can put on the grill for delicious results.

Watermelon

Grilling watermelon is easier than it seems! Simply cut it into inch-thick slices and grill for a few minutes per side. If you want to add watermelon to your salad, add some salt to it before grilling and enjoy the unusual taste.

Carrots

If you’ve ever roasted carrots in the oven, the principle is the same. Grilling will increase their natural sweetness which makes them a great side dish to many different meals. Adding some oil and herbs will only improve the flavor of your grilled carrots.

Avocado

You typically have your avocado on toast or in the form of guac, but try grilling it if you’re up for something different. It’s delicious and will look great on the plate! Cut the fruit in half, remove the pit, brush each half with oil, and grill on medium fire for a few minutes.
